BENEFITS OF TINT
ARIZONA TINT LAWS
Arizona window tint laws (under Arizona Revised Statutes §28-959.01) permit any darkness on rear windows but strictly require front side windows to allow more than 33% of visible light transmission (VLT). Reflective, red, and amber tints are illegal.
Review the specific rules you need to follow:
Visible Light Transmission (VLT)
Front Side Windows: Must allow more than 33% of light to pass through.
Back Side Windows: Any level of darkness is allowed.
Rear Window: Any level of darkness is allowed.
Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed, but only above the manufacturer's AS-1 line (the top strip of the glass)
Reflection & Colors
Reflectivity: Tint must not be more than 35% reflective (mirrored finishes are strictly prohibited).
Banned Colors: Red and amber tinted films are illegal statewide.
Other Key Regulations
Dual Side Mirrors: If your rear window is tinted, your vehicle is required to have dual side-view mirrors.
Medical Exemptions: If you require darker tint for a medical condition, you can get a medical exemption certified by a licensed physician or ophthalmologist through the Arizona Department of Transportation Medical Review Program.

While Desert Elite Customs may provide general information regarding Arizona window tint laws, we do not provide legal advice and make no guarantee that a particular film shade or installation configuration is compliant in all jurisdictions. Laws may vary and may change over time.
Customers may request film darkness levels or windshield tint that exceed legal limits or otherwise affect vehicle visibility. In such cases, the customer acknowledges and agrees that they are voluntarily requesting the installation and assume all responsibility for the consequences of that decision.
Prior to installation of any film that may not comply with applicable laws, the customer will be required to sign a separate Tint Liability Waiver and Acknowledgment Agreement. By signing such agreement, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:
• They have requested the specific film shade and/or windshield tint of their own choosing.
• They are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Desert Elite Customs is not responsible for any citations, tickets, fines, vehicle inspections, registration issues, impoundments, or other legal consequences resulting from the installed film.
